What is Unsecapp.exe? Why is it running?

Why Is Unsecapp.exe Running?

Unsecapp.exe is a system process, which means it comes with the operating system. To delve a little deeper, this process works with the WMI provider interface structure for the purpose of call-backs for client applications which use a variety of processes.

tn

The Windows Management Instrumentation or WMI is a component designed to allow applications to interact with system user accounts, programs already running, services within the OS, and other areas of Windows. This is why you will find the unsecapp.exe process in Windows Task Manager during boot-up or when called upon by a specific application.

Why Did It Suddenly Start Running?

Because of the very nature of the unsecapp.exe process, typically applications will call upon it, when required. Users have reported seeing this process running in the background after installing specific anti-virus applications, IM applications and gaming tools (like Steam).

Is Unsecapp.exe Dangerous?

This process is, for the most part, safe. Thus, it’s unlikely it will cause any harm to your system.

As previously mentioned, this process should be considered both safe and a necessity. Despite that, you should also be cognizant of the fact that various malicious files are known to use similar process names in order to trick users into thinking they are legitimate.

The Unsecapp.exe process is found in the following location:

C:\Windows\System32\wbem\

So if you find the unsecapp.exe file in any location other than the one specified above, then it’s most likely a virus, malware or spyware.

End of support for Windows 2003!

Windows Server 2003 support is ending July 14, 2015

In my opinion, Windows 2003 was one of the best Operating Systems for Servers. When it was released in April 24, 2003, it took the enterprise IT infrastructure to the next level. It remains a very important link in our IT-Cloud evolution, and it’s going to remain in history as one of the greatest things Microsoft developed.

What does end of support mean for you? After July 14, Microsoft will no longer issue security updates for any version of Windows Server 2003. If you are still running Windows Server 2003 in your datacenter, you need to take steps now to plan and execute a migration strategy to protect your infrastructure.

How to check who logged on your computer? | Windows7

To view these events, open the Event Viewer – press the Windows key, type Event Viewer, and press Enter to open it.

1

Navigate to the Windows Logs –> Security category in the event viewer.

Look for events with event ID 4624 – these represent successful login events.

2

To see more information – such as the user account that logged into the computer – you can double-click the event and scroll down in the text box. (You can also scroll down in the text box underneath the list of events.)

If your security log is cluttered, you can click the Filter Current Log option in the sidebar and filter by event ID 4624. The Event Viewer will display only logon events.

As we step further into the future, things are simplifying more and more..
How many of us played in a band when we were kids?
How many of us wanted to play or to start a band? Since it wasn’t that simple and not so cheap 10-20 years ago…
But now, thanks to Google technologies what we need is just a Chrome browser, a Midi Drum Set + Midi Guitar and a Midi Keyboard… After that all it remains is to gather your friends and start recording!

All this is available on  Chrome for Android, Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome OS.
